About me
Aja K. Ellington, MSW, is a distinguished graduate of Indiana University and an award-winning mental health professional serving the Saint Joseph and Elkhart County communities. As the Founder and CEO of Free Your Wings Youth Mentoring, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth and families, and AE Consulting Group, LLC, she specializes in mental health consulting, DEI strategies, and inspirational speaking.
Currently, Aja serves as the Access Career Coordinator for the South Bend Community School Corporation, leading initiatives to align career exploration with equitable learning opportunities. Her work integrates trauma-informed care and career-connected learning to support youth development. Previously, she served as the Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Mental Health Counselor at Goshen College, spearheading strategies to advance social justice and inclusion.
A proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., Aja’s achievements include numerous awards, such as the Chamber of Commerce 40 Under 40 and IU Distinguished Alumni of the Year. She has contributed to national policy recommendations addressing youth homelessness and economic abuse. Known for her eloquence and expertise, Aja is dedicated to fostering resilience and equity through mentorship, advocacy, and public speaking. She lives her mission by uplifting communities while inspiring systemic change.
