Gudelia’s strength comes from her roots growing up as a migrant farmworker, the second of 12
siblings, and raised by a single parent (awesome mother Maria), I always knew that there was
something else I was called to do. Without God and all of those who mentored me in my life, I do not
think I would be where I am today. Thank you to all those who believed in that young woman and
imparted their knowledge in her life back then.
For many years I was told “You Can’t” “You do not look the part” “You DON’T have a voice” Let me
tell you, graduating from the SPARK Program at St. Mary’s College has given me the courage and
strength to step out and do what I have dreamed of for many years. Along with all the Mentors and
people who have imparted in my life. Now when I walk standing straight, with confidence in the
room I say “Yes I CAN” “and “I have a VOICE” “AND look out WORLD, HERE I COME”
