Shaban Varajab is the Data and Accounting Manager for the GEAR UP South Bend! Project at South Bend Community School Corporation, focusing on college and career readiness. He holds a degree in Education (Math and Economics) from Moi University, Kenya, and a master's in International Peace Studies from the University of Notre Dame. Shaban has a diverse professional background, including roles as an innovation consultant with enFocus, Catholic Relief Services, and Rural Women Peace Link across the USA, Philippines, and Kenya. He is also the founder of 42-Change Makers, a nonprofit aimed at empowering at-risk youth in Kenya through leadership, education, and entrepreneurship. In 2023, he was honored as a Michiana 40 Under 40 recipient by the South Bend Regional Chamber and was named the GEAR UP National Professional of the Year by the National Council for Community and Education Partnerships for his contributions to education. Shaban is passionate about sharing his expertise in youth development and data management to support educational and career development for underserved youth.
